Job summary

Ozark Center in Missouri seeks a Medical Assistant to support psychiatrists, APNs, and RNs in delivering patient care for office-based behavioral health services.

The MA assists with routine clinical tasks, maintains medication and supplies logs, and documents in electronic health records while collaborating with the Nurse Coordinator of Adult Psychiatric Practices to ensure patient comfort and safety in a trauma-informed care environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Registered/Certified Medical Assistant in Missouri.
• CPR and First Aid certifications preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Meet the total clinical needs of practice patients as directed by psychiatrist/APN.
• Report to Nurse Coordinator of Adult Psychiatric Practices; may report to physician/APN.
• Perform duties as assigned by Nurse Coordinator, physician or APN.
• Use proper communication with higher level nursing and/or physician; maintain logs for medications and samples; log documentation per clinic policy.
• Facilitate efficient patient transitions; identify problems; communicate pertinent data to physician/provider; accurate chart/charge prep.
• Make appropriate referrals; use standing orders; ensure accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records; educate patients and family on plan of care.
• Engage patients and families; assist in plan of care education.
• Meet productivity standards of the mental health office.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
