Job summary

AIDS Center of Queens County (ACQC) in New York City seeks a Mental Health Professional for the HUB Program. The role delivers low-threshold mental health services, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction within HIV prevention and care links.

Services are provided across Jamaica and Woodside sites, with community outreach and telehealth as needed. The position requires LMSW/LCSW/LMHC, 2+ years clinical experience, and bilingual English/Spanish.

Qualifications

• LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC required.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience in mental health services.
• Experience working with individuals impacted by substance use and knowledge of harm reduction principles.
• Experience working with LGBTQ+ communities.
• Experience providing trauma-informed services.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to provide services in office, community, mobile, and telehealth settings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic record systems.
• Valid driver's license in good order preferred.
• Sensitivity to ethnic, cultural, gender, and sexual diversity and ability to provide nonjudgmental, client-centered services.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling, brief interventions, and crisis support.
• Conduct mental health screenings and assessments.
• Deliver services using trauma-informed and harm reduction practices.
• Provide affirming and culturally responsive services to LGBTQ+ individuals.
• Support clients with substance use concerns without requiring abstinence or participation in treatment.
• Assist clients with referrals to medical care, substance use treatment, housing, benefits, and other supportive services.
• Collaborate with outreach, navigation, case management, and behavioral health staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency and funder requirements.
• Participate in team meetings, supervision, and staff trainings.
• Provide services at multiple program locations and through mobile outreach as needed.
• Participate in occasional evening and weekend outreach activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned
