Job summary

Doorways in Arlington, VA seeks a Home Coordinator to join our Safehousing Program. The role covers shelter oversight, crisis intervention, case management support, and hotline coverage on a full‑time, on‑site basis.

You will support volunteers and work under the Shelter Manager while ensuring safety, confidentiality, and trauma‑informed care for survivors and their children. We value collaboration, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic shelter setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
• Master’s degree in social work or counseling preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of trauma‑informed practice and direct experience applying this knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary shelter coverage and secondary hotline coverage.
• Maintain client confidentiality per policy.
• Supervise children, provide crisis intervention and safety planning.
• Document all interactions and maintain daily logs; ensure smooth shifts and coverage.
