Job summary

Paragon Social Care is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in Peterborough. You will work with a young person aged 11–17 with complex emotional and mental health needs, delivering trauma-informed, relationship-based care on a long-term solo placement.

Responsibilities include supporting daily living, providing therapeutic guidance, maintaining records, and coordinating with CAMHS and social workers.

Qualifications

• Experience in prison services, secure settings or hospital would be a bonus.
• Mental health, youth work, social care or psychology qualifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Daily Living and Routines: Encourage engagement in daily routines and activities that promote stability, structure, and wellbeing within the home.
• Provide Therapeutic Support and Guidance: Use evidence-based techniques (e.g. trauma-informed, grounding, emotional regulation) to support recovery and resilience.
• Maintain Accurate Records: Document incidents, interventions, and communications in line with safeguarding and organisational requirements.
• Participate in Supervision and Training: Engage in regular supervision and mandatory training.
• Transporting the Young Person: Ensure the young person is taken to appointments and activities.
• Work Collaboratively with Key Stakeholders: Liaise with CAMHS, social workers and emergency services as needed.
