Job summary

Paragon Social Care in Peterborough is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Support Worker (Youth) on a flexible/agency contract to support a young person with complex emotional and mental health needs. You will build trust, provide stability, and act as a consistent adult in a home setting.

You will engage in daily living support, therapeutic guidance, and collaborative care with external professionals. A UK driving license and flexibility with evenings/weekends are essential.

Qualifications

• Empathic, resilient and proactive individual.
• Full UK driving license and access to own vehicle.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends and short notice.
• Experience in mental health, youth work or social care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living and routines to promote stability and wellbeing.
• Provide therapeutic support and guidance using trauma-informed methods.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents and interventions with safeguarding in mind.
• Participate in supervision, training and professional development.
• Transport the young person to appointments, activities or education as needed.
• Collaborate with CAMHS, social workers and emergency services as required.
