Job summary

The Ion Center for Violence Prevention is seeking a compassionate Crisis Intervention Specialist to support victim-survivors in the Northern Kentucky region, focusing on Owen, Carroll, Grant, Gallatin, and Pendleton Counties. You will perform intake, crisis response, case management, and counseling to help clients achieve safety and self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care.
• Ability to work under highly stressful, crisis-oriented situations.
• Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
• Outstanding empathetic and listening skills.
• Professional oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate on a team.
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Must be a minimum age of 18.

Responsibilities

• Provides full range of crisis intervention and case management services to primary and secondary survivors of crime.
• Focus on victims of partner violence, sexual violence, and stalking.
• Assist victims to work towards safety and self-sufficiency.
• Maintain client confidentiality and document accurately.
• Field crisis hotline calls, texts, and chat.
• Assist clients with completing agency paperwork and safety planning.
• Provide trauma-informed individual, family, and/or group counseling.
• Educate survivors on topics related to violence and safety.
