Job summary

San Diego Rescue Mission in National City, CA seeks a Community Life Ambassador Supervisor (CLAS) to lead Community Life Ambassadors, promote a trauma-informed environment, and ensure safety and supportive services for clients and staff.

In this full-time, on-site role you will supervise shifts, coordinate emergency responses, maintain documentation, and collaborate with volunteers and partners to deliver compassionate, mission-aligned programming within a nonprofit social services setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and leadership to Community Life Ambassadors during shifts.
• Promote a trauma-informed environment and support staff in duties.
• Monitor productivity and provide guidance to optimize performance.
• Coordinate shift logistics, emergencies, and on-call communications.
• Oversee daily operations such as room inspections, meals, and health appraisals.
• Develop supportive relationships with clients, focusing on spiritual engagement.
• Handle sensitive issues with trauma-informed interventions to ensure safety.
• Maintain shift reports, incident logs and compliance records.
• Assist in onboarding and training of new staff and coordinate supplies.
