Job summary

La Rabida Children’s Hospital seeks a Skill Advancement Coach to deliver structured, skill-based coaching to DCFS/CWCA teams. The role strengthens supervisory capacity and promotes trauma-informed, family-centered approaches through actionable development plans.

The Clinical Responsibilities emphasize coaching leadership, reflective practice, and team performance, while Administrative tasks focus on outcomes, CQI, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, public administration or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in child welfare or related fields.
  • Master’s degree in social work, human services, psychology, public administration or related field; two years in staff development, coaching, mentoring, training, or leadership development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person, individual and group coaching to DCFS investigation supervisors and other targeted audiences, focusing on leadership, communication, reflective practice, and problem-solving skills.
  • Support investigation supervisors and other assigned staff in applying trauma-informed, family-centered, and evidence-informed practices with their teams.
  • Provide reflective support to supervisors and other assigned staff, helping them improve decision-making, team management, and staff development practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, feedback, and accountability among supervisory and other staff.
  • Support integration of coaching into DCFS designated program initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze outcomes.
  • Contribute to CQI processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
