Job summary

State of Nebraska is hiring Child and Family Services Specialists (CFSS) in Seward/York. You will provide trauma‑informed case management to families involved with child welfare, assess safety during home visits, and advocate for permanency and well‑being.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required or in final semester.
  • Ability to travel to homes and communities; valid driver's license required.
  • Experience or internship in child welfare or case management preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a case manager for families referred to DHHS.
  • Conduct home visits and safety assessments.
  • Advocate for child and family well-being with diverse backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with legal system and partners to support permanency.
  • Use SDM tools to inform safety planning and decisions.
  • Document accurately for internal and legal use.
