Job summary

Jewish Family Service of San Diego is seeking a SOS Engagement Specialist to support clients in San Diego. This part-time, on-site role emphasizes trauma-informed, compassionate engagement and coordination with care teams to help clients access essential services.

You will assist with translations, scheduling, medical appointments, and transportation, while maintaining documentation and collaborating with other agency staff to promote dignity and independence for participants.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and client-service skills.
• Attention to detail and reliable follow-through.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and document in client databases.
• Effective communication with clients, families, providers, volunteers, and colleagues.
• Valid driver’s license, insurance, and clean driving record.
• Basic MS Word/Excel skills.
• Dependable transportation for client appointments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Care Manager to implement each client’s care plan.
• Support multiple clients and projects with organized follow-through.
• Assist clients with translation, scheduling and medical appointments.
• Accompany clients to appointments and advocate/translate as needed.
• Liaise among clients, families, providers, hospitals, and caregivers.
• Notify Care Manager of changes in client needs promptly.
• Help organize paperwork, bills, forms, and public benefits applications.
• Coordinate transportation and assist with social activities.
• Provide social interaction aligned with care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation and submit reports timely.
