Job summary

The Dedicated Aide supports a student with disabilities in a secure juvenile detention setting, working under instructional staff to implement IEP/BIP accommodations and behavioral plans.

Responsibilities include one-on-one instructional support, trauma-informed practices, and collaboration with general education, special education, and carceral staff to ensure safe, engaging, and effective learning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate degree or completion of 60 college credits preferred.
• Paraprofessional certification preferred or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one instructional support and assist access to grade-level curricula.
• Utilize trauma-informed, restorative practices to de-escalate behaviors.
• Maintain safety, supervision, and orderly learning environment in secure detention.
• Participate in IEP/disciplinary team meetings and document progress.
• Demonstrate professional boundaries and flexibility in a mobile school setting.

Skills

Experience with at-risk youth
