Job summary

Maya Angelou Schools See Forever Foundation is seeking a Dedicated Aide for a student with disabilities in a secure juvenile detention school. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate degree or completion of at least 60 college credits is preferred.
• Paraprofessional certification (or ability to obtain) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one instructional support to the assigned student throughout the school day.
• Implement behavioral supports outlined in the student’s IEP and BIP; use trauma-informed, restorative practices.
• Maintain continuous awareness of the student's location and activities; follow facility security procedures.
• Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary meetings; share observations of progress and behavior.
• Collaborate with general education and special education staff, and carceral staff; protect FERPA confidentiality.
