Job summary

Volunteers of America Colorado Navigation Center seeks an Addictions Specialist / Chemical Dependency Counselor (CAC) to provide assessment, counseling, case management, and referral services for individuals with substance use disorders. Position emphasizes trauma-informed, recovery-oriented care and safety within a navigation center context.

Qualifications

• Licensed chemical addiction counselor in Colorado or eligible.
• Experience in case management within behavioral health or homelessness settings.
• Knowledge of harm-reduction, stages of change, MAT, and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat individuals with substance use disorders using evidence-based approaches.
• Develop and monitor strength-based service plans with participants.
• Coordinate care, referrals, and warm handoffs to appropriate services.
• Document care accurately, maintain confidentiality, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Engage participants in counseling and support recovery goals.
