Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Omaha is seeking a Charge RN to oversee a department of frontline nurses, advocate for staff, and align daily operations with patient care goals. You will rely on strong leadership to drive teamwork and clinical excellence across the unit.

You will mentor, schedule, and develop the team, manage budgets and workflows, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and quality.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an RN nursing program, eligible for Nebraska RN licensure.
• Registered Nurse license in Nebraska at hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 5 months of start.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 5 months of start.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and coach nursing staff.
• Assist with unit scheduling and daily work plans.
• Ensure staff complete mandatory education and maintain certifications.
• Guide peer interviewing and participate in performance management.
• Support department budgets and payroll activities.
• Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Ensure regulatory compliance through rounding and environment of care checks.
• Communicate expectations clearly and address issues objectively.
