Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for the Norfolk, VA campus. The role is on-site with evening hours (11a-11p) and reports to the ED team.

The incumbent will assist physicians and nurses in delivering care to emergency and minor-emergency patients under supervision. Requirements include EMT-B or equivalent certification, or current enrollment in a clinical program with at least one semester completed, plus BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Assist the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency patients.
• De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire for all incumbents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency patients.
• Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse.
