Job summary

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license.
• Current, active, unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner license.
• Current, active, unrestricted Furnishing license and DEA registration.
• NP National Board Certification (Beginning February 2018): Adult Gerontology Acute Care AGACNP-BC or ACNPC-AG.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
• Within six months of hire, ATLS certification.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience
• Two or more years of experience in Trauma/Critical Care.

Responsibilities

• Manage inpatient care for the divisions of Surgery, including Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Service.
• Participate in inpatient sign out at beginning and end of shift.
• Discharge patients with summaries, instructions and medications.
• Triage phone calls and coordinate consults as needed.
• Review critical labs and follow up on results with patients and staff.
• Provide multi-disciplinary care coordination and education across settings.
