Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Chicago seeks a part-time Trauma Counselor (20 hours) to provide trauma-informed counseling and supportive services to clients and families.

Under the Arts & Education Manager, you will lead individual and group sessions, maintain client records, develop treatment plans, and coordinate referrals. Evening/weekend shifts may be required to meet program needs.

Qualifications

• Certified Illinois Counselor required.
• IAODAPCA certification must be maintained.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum two years counseling experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, respectful counseling and referral services.
• Counsel individuals and families; maintain client charts and records.
• Lead educational, process, and support groups.
• Prepare and monitor treatment plans with clients.
• Arrange referrals to outside agencies as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in committees.
• Keep accurate reports and program documentation within deadlines.
• Adhere to work schedules, including potential evenings/weekends.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
