Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma City offers an Advanced Practice Student CNS Track within the Trauma Services department. The program exposes participants to clinical nurse specialists, physicians, and leadership, with a focus on learning that complements formal CNS education.

Responsibilities include applying evidence-based nursing practices, leading patient care initiatives, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop population-based care programs.

Qualifications

• RN with 2 years of patient care experience.
• Enrollment in MSN CNS program to complete Master’s in Nursing.
• Oklahoma RN license or eNLC license required.
• BLS certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties within the scope of an experienced RN.
• Acts as a learning clinical expert in evidence‑based practice for a specific patient population.
• Supports and/or conducts nursing research to advance evidence-based practice.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary care team to design, implement, and evaluate care programs.
• Provides leadership to advance nursing practice within the student role.
• Develops and implements innovative solutions addressing system problems with the interdisciplinary team.
• Serves as a change agent through coaching and participation in committees and projects.
