Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Current NYS RN license required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership/management experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Nurse Executive to establish nursing care standards and evaluates staff compliance.
• Identifies research protocols affecting the patient population served and informs staff.
• Facilitates effective provision of support services essential to patient care.
• Maintains a safe and caring environment for patients that supports positive health teaching and family expectations of care.
• Develops unit goals aligned with institutional values, with input from staff.
• Recognizes the need for culturally sensitive patient care and models sensitivity to staff.
• Monitors indicators of clinical processes, system issues, and outcomes related to trauma care quality.
• Develops quality indicators, filters, and audits; identifies trends and sentinel events; participates in case reviews of trauma patients.
• Assists team leaders in outlining and implementing remedial actions.
• Performs related duties as required; all essential functions per ADA.
