Job summary

Children's Mercy seeks a Trauma Education Program Lead to initiate and maintain education and outreach for the hospital's trauma and burn programs in the service area. You will serve as primary contact for referral hospitals, EMS, and flight services, coordinating partnerships to grow visibility and impact.

The role emphasizes collaboration, inclusion, and a patient-centered approach in a dynamic hospital system. Vaccination requirements and exemptions may be discussed with Human Resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing and 3–5 years trauma care experience.
• Current RN license in MO and multistate or KS/MO compact on hire.
• Certified Trauma Nurse; TN Core Course Instructor if applicable.
• Advanced Burn Life Support provider and instructor; life support certifications as required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and coordinates pediatric trauma and burn education opportunities.
• Identifies and develops pediatric trauma and burn outreach opportunities within the hospital service area.
• Provides oversight of education requirements for pediatric trauma and burn program within hospital system.
• Participates in trauma and burn performance improvement and verification activities supporting education and outreach.
• Supports the verification and site visit process and other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

MO RN license (Licensure MO)

KS RN license

MO/KS multistate license

RN Compact license (KS/MO)

Certified Trauma Nurse

Trauma Nursing Core Course Instructor

Advanced Burn Life Support Provider

Advanced Burn Life Support Instructor

Life Support Certifications (per policy)

EMS licensure (EMT/EMT-P)

Unit-specific specialty certifications
