Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital is seeking a qualified APRN (FNP/Adult), PA or CNS for their Trauma team. This APP will be responsible for the evaluation and management of admitted trauma patients on the regular floors, ICU, and will attend trauma activations in the ED.

Procedures include suturing and chest tube insertion per policy. Position is full-time with night shifts (three 12-hour shifts) and occasional weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• If in neonatal care service area Master’s Degree is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts thorough medical histories and physicals; develops working diagnosis and treatment plan with the care team.
• Performs and interprets routine diagnostic procedures and tests.
• May prescribe and monitor medications within licensure and policy.
• Educates patients about disease, treatments, side effects and hazards.
• Participates in rounds and collaborates with nursing and medical teams to ensure quality care.
• Refers patients to specialists as appropriate for consultation or resources.
• Ensures continuity of care across multi-disciplinary teams and services.
• Contributes to quality monitoring and discharge planning.
