Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Trauma Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for night shift in a premier Level 1 Trauma Center. You will deliver overnight care for adult trauma patients in collaboration with trauma surgeons, respond to activations, and assist with evaluation and management of acute changes in patient condition.

The role emphasizes high-acuity patient care, professional collaboration, and comprehensive documentation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in AGACNP or ACNP (or equivalent grandfathered certification).
• National certification through NCCPA, ANCC, or AACN.
• Ohio PA/NP licensure as applicable.
• Eligibility for federal DEA registration.
• Active BLS certification; ATLS within 180 days of hire.
• Additional life support certifications as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with trauma team to provide overnight care for trauma patients.
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and document plans.
• Respond to activations, stabilize high-acuity patients per ATLS.
• Evaluate changes in clinical status and escalate as needed.
• Perform bedside procedures and manage operative/non-operative plans.
• Coordinate discharge and communication with multidisciplinary teams.
• Documentation, orders, and adherence to safety standards.
• Promote patient education and family engagement.
