Job summary

PeopleReady in Pompano Beach, FL is hiring a Trash Collector to join our team on-site. You will ride on a garbage truck, collect waste on a designated route, and assist the driver with tasks throughout the day.

This role requires physical stamina, ability to lift 50 lb+ repeatedly, and the resilience to work in all weather conditions. We offer next-day pay and flexible long- or short-term positions.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to lift 50 lbs+ continuously during route.
• Physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Ride on the back of a garbage collection truck, collecting solid waste on a designated route.
• Direct the driver when pulling out into traffic and guiding incoming vehicles to the dumping area at facilities.
• Know standardized work routines for manual tasks and operation of collection vehicles in solid waste operations.
• Check operating and safety conditions of vehicles, perform minor servicing, and report needed repairs or maintenance.
• Assist the driver with various tasks during waste runs and be able to lift 100+ lbs many times during the day.
• Work in all weather conditions.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $14 - $14 / hour. This range is a goodfaith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location and other considerations permitted by law. An employee's pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis unless a deadline is otherwise stated.

What you'll be doing as a Trash Collector:

• Ride on the back of a garbage collection truck, collecting solid waste on a designated route

• Direct the driver when pulling out into traffic and backing up, and guide incoming vehicles to the dumping area at solid waste disposal facilities

• Have knowledge of standardized work routines for manual tasks and the operation of collection vehicles in solid waste operations

• Check the operating and safety conditions of vehicles, perform minor servicing, and report needed repairs or maintenance

• Assist the driver with various tasks during waste runs and be able to lift 100+ lbs many times throughout the day

• Be able to work in all weather conditions
