Job summary

PeopleReady of St. Petersburg, FL is now hiring Sorters. You will clean and maintain the recycling yard and collection equipment, safely remove chemicals from discarded appliances, deposit recoverable materials, and operate balers or loading machinery to prepare materials for shipment.

Shift available is 1st Shift (Day). Applicants must be at least 18, with prior recycling yard experience preferred; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a dirty, strong-smelling environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in recycling yard preferred
• Able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and reach, bend, push, pull, and climb
• Flexibility to work in all weather conditions
• Able to remain in a stationary position for up to 10 hours
• Must be able to work in a dirty, and strong-smelling industrial environment
• Drug Test Required

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $15.50 - $15.50 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Sorter:

• Clean and maintain recycling yard and collection equipment
• Safely remove chemicals from discarded appliances
• Deposit recoverable materials into chutes or place them on conveyor belts
• Operate balers to compress recyclable materials into bundles or bales
• Use machines to load items onto trucks for shipment to other recycling facilities
