As a Trash Slinger, you will back up drivers, assist with routes, and ensure safety checks and proper reporting of repairs as needed. 3rd shift available.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
• Knowledge of standardized work routines used in solid waste collection operations.
• Knowledge of procedures for collecting solid waste materials for disposal, reuse, and recycling.
• Ability to lift 100+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, including inclement weather.
• Ability to carry, reach, bend, push, pull, and climb during the workday.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work.
• Drug test required.

Responsibilities

• Operate as a helper on the back of a garbage collection truck collecting solid waste along designated routes.
• Direct the driver when pulling into traffic, backing up, and maneuvering at disposal facilities.
• Assist the driver with tasks during waste collection routes.
• Check vehicle operating and safety conditions, perform minor servicing, and report repair needs.
• Direct incoming vehicles to designated dumping areas at solid waste disposal facilities.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $15 - $15 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Trash Slinger:

• Operate as a helper on the back of a garbage collection truck collecting solid waste along designated routes
• Direct the driver when pulling into traffic, backing up, and maneuvering at disposal facilities
