Job summary

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. in Manteno seeks an Entry Level Transporter/Peer Recovery Support Specialist to transport program patients to admissions and appointments, and to keep agency vans clean and ready for daily use.

You will support counselors on treatment plans, report client observations, and assist with activities alongside nursing staff. A High School Diploma/GED is required, CPRS certification (or attainable within one year), and a valid driver’s license with insurance.

Qualifications

• Driver's license and current auto insurance are required.

Responsibilities

• Transport program patients for admission and discharge, medical and community appointments.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of agency vans.
• Provide motivational support to assist counselors in meeting therapeutic goals.
• Support treatment plans by reporting client observations and supporting decisions.
• Assist case manager/counselor with client activities.
• Work with nursing/medical staff to monitor clients' vital signs and chart data.
• Perform room and facility checks to ensure client comfort and safety.

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. is a substance use treatmentorganization offering comprehensive behavioral health programs,including medication-assisted recovery, to individuals with substanceuse disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring mental health conditions. Withover 25 years of experience and multiple locations across the state,we provide a full continuum of care for substance use disorder, fromprevention and harm reduction to treatment and recovery support. Ourprograms integrate FDA-approved medications for the treatment ofsubstance use disorders, including all three medications approved totreat opioid use disorder (buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone).We strive to meet our patients where they are, bringing care outsideclinic walls via telehealth and mobile services and ensuring patientshave access to harm reduction resources and education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Transport program patients for admission and discharge, medicaland other community appointments. This is the primaryresponsibility, approximately 75% of work time.


• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of agency vans.

PRSS/RC Duties below may be assigned depending on thetransport schedule.

• Provide motivational support to assist counselors in meetingtherapeutic goals.


• Support treatment plans by reporting client observations andsupport decisions concerning therapy, discipline and privilege (at aminimum twice per shift and subject to change depending on need)


• Assists case manager/counselor with client activities byimplementing scheduled and/ or requested activities.


• Works cooperatively with members of the nursing and medical staffto monitor clients’ vital signs, observe urine drops, monitorself-administration of medications, monitor clients, and chart allpertinent data.


• Performs room and facility checks, at varying intervals, to ensureclient’s comfort, safety, and well-being.

Pay Rate: $18.26 - $22.00 per hour, based on certification

Experience and Skills:

Education and/or Experience:Transport/commercial driving.High School Diploma/GEDrequired;Experience in/with substance use, detoxprograms, medication-assisted treatment, behavioral healthcare and/orcommunity relationsencouraged to apply.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Driver'slicense and current insurance.Must have certification in PeerRecovery Support (CPRS), or attain certification within one year ofplacement in position.
