Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Florence is seeking a full-time Transporter. The role entails safe, efficient patient transport around the campus and support for moving medical equipment.

You will also operate the hospital shuttle and golf carts to move staff and patients between designated areas. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, 0–6 months of experience, and must hold a BLS certification plus a valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Qualifications

Job Description

The Transporter reports to the Division Operations Manager and operates under general supervision. This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely transport of patients throughout the MUSC campus while maintaining a high standard of patient care. Additionally, this position supports the movement and positioning of essential medical equipment, including wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, beds, and related items, within the hospital.

This position will also operate the hospital employee shuttle, transporting employees safely and efficiently between a designated local parking lot and the hospital. The Transporter will frequently operate golf carts to safely transport patients between designated parking areas and the hospital.
