Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Patient Transporter to assist with moving patients and related items across the MUSC campus. You will report to the Imaging Manager or Director and support patient flow under general supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 0–6 months of health care experience, and BLS certification within 2 weeks of hire. Rotating shifts, weekends, and irregular hours may apply. Equal Opportunity Employer; E-Verify participation.

Job Description

The Patient Transporter reports to the Imaging Supervisor or Imaging Director. Under general supervision, the Patient Transporter assists with the transportation of patients and other ancillary items within the MUSC campus.

High school graduate or equivalent (GED). Completion of a recognized allied health course or six months patient care experience in a health care setting preferred. May require working irregular hours, rotating shifts and weekends.

Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS), either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Additional Job Description
