Job summary

Job Description

The Materials & Distribution Technician will perform varied essential materials, distribution, and logistics tasks within the department of Materials Management in support of clinical activities within the medical complex, under the direction of the Supply Chain Coordinator. The Materials & Distribution Technician will demonstrate the ability to determine replenishment requirements, locate, select, document issue of, and distribute medical supplies in all hospital floor units. Documenting receipt of and distribution of supplies and equipment are tasks required of this position. The Materials & Distribution Technician will adhere to the departmental rules and regulations, in addition to all MUHA rules and regulations.

Education

High school graduate (or GED equivalent).

Experience

General - Ability to work rotating weekends, rotating shifts and holidays. Requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing as well as demonstrated ability to perform recordkeeping tasks, shipping/receiving, physical inventories and quality control checks. Must be computer literate and have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and E-Mail systems such as Outlook. Must possess the ability to learn Materials Management related software and other related technology. A valid South Carolina driver’s license is preferred.
