WellSpan Health is seeking a PRN Transport Technician for Gettysburg Transport Services. You will perform activities related to patient transportation, follow safety guidelines, and provide messenger services on request.

Responsibilities include moving patients between departments, assisting staff with transfers using proper body mechanics, and helping maintain equipment and supplies in the transport area. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and quality service.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• Less than 1 year relevant experience preferred.

Hours: Monday - Friday (7:30am- 9:00pm), Saturday and Sunday (8:30am - 9:00pm)

General Summary

Performs activities related to transportation of patients. Follows established safety guidelines and uses appropriate devices when transporting patients. Provides messenger services on request

Essential Functions

• Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed.
• Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs or stretchers using appropriate body mechanics to perform patient lifts.
• Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.

Common Expectations

• Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Participates in educational programs and inservice meetings.
• Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
• Performs dispatching duties such as receiving transport requests, dispatching available transporters based on established priorities, coordinating transports to minimize delays and maintaining appropriate documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

• High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience

• Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required

Licenses

• Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
