Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking a patient transporter to move patients safely between inpatient beds and departments such as admitting, surgery, therapy or radiology.

This role supports clinical operations by retrieving medical records, lab results, supplies and medications, maintaining equipment, and prioritizing duties to keep the department flowing and patient care uninterrupted. Must follow safety procedures and use equipment properly. Multiple shifts available; Full Time position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to inpatient beds and between departments (admitting, surgery, therapy, radiology) safely and promptly.
• Retrieves medical records, lab results, supplies and medications as needed.
• Maintains and cleans equipment and supports department flow.

Summary:

Transports patients to their inpatient bed and/or to and from other areas such as admitting, surgery, therapy or radiology in a safe and timely manner. Retrieves medical records, lab results, supplies and medications as required. Prioritizes duties to facilitate department flow. Maintains and cleans equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures that established safety procedures are followed throughout the transportation process.
• Monitors the proper functioning of all transportation equipment on a daily basis.
• Knowledge of patient safety, basic transportation equipment, infection control processes, clerical skills, excellent telephone etiquette, and good communication and organizational skills.
