Job summary

Maine Department of Transportation is seeking Transportation Workers to help keep Maine moving. You’ll work on roadways and bridges, with opportunities for training and advancement, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits.

Position involves seasonal duties from summer repairs to winter plowing, with paid CDL and Snowfighter training. Candidate must meet licensing requirements and be willing to obtain required certifications within the probationary period.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Required to work at a higher class as necessary and in accordance with required licenses and/or certification.
• Shall obtain and retain a valid Class B State of Maine license during the initial six-month probationary period.
• Ability to become a certified snow fighter within 12 months.
• Ability to obtain flagger certification within a specified amount of time.

Responsibilities

• Keep roadways and bridges safe and effective; contribute to a rewarding career with advancement opportunities and competitive pay.
• Perform road repair, culvert replacement in summer, and plowing in winter as part of MaineDOT operations.
