Job summary

Maine Department of Transportation is seeking Transportation Workers to help keep Maine’s roadways and bridges safe and accessible. You will perform road maintenance, snow plowing, and related tasks while earning competitive pay and participating in CDL/Snowfighter training.

Starting hourly wage is $21.37, with a 20% stipend, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and retirement plans. Opportunities for advancement are available through on-the-job training and promotions.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Required to work at a higher class as necessary and in accordance with required licenses and/or certification

Responsibilities

• Maintain roadways and bridges for safety and efficiency.
• Assist with snow plowing and road maintenance in seasonal conditions.
• Learn new skills and progress through training and promotions.
• Participate in CDL and Snowfighter training programs.
