Clay Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Van Driver / Transportation Assistant to join our team.

Purpose/Belief Statement

The Transportation Assistant assists residents with transportation to and from the facility and outside appointments in a safe manner, following established procedures.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

1. Transport and assist residents to outside physician visits safely.
2. Transport residents within the facility to scheduled specialty appointments (podiatry, audiology, optometry, dental, etc.).
3. Assist with transporting residents to and from in-house activities.
4. Provide one-on-one monitoring for residents at risk of elopement during outside visits.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

1. High school diploma or G.E.D.
2. Valid Driver’s License in the state of employment.
3. Clean Driving Record.
4. Preferred: 1 year of experience.
5. Red Cross First Aid Certification.
6. Experience in independent decision-making, preferably in healthcare or service industries.
7. Compassionate and enthusiastic personality.
