Position Summary

As a Delivery Driver and Pharmacy Technician for Omnicare Pharmacy, you will deliver prescription orders and/or products to customers on a predetermined route and schedule. Delivery drivers and pharmacy technicians take important steps to ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for our patients, demonstrating ethical conduct and maintaining patient confidentiality. Success in this role includes managing all assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support the team’s ability to fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately.

  1. Partner with the supervisor to coordinate workflow for functions that prepare and process medications.
  2. Follow policies and procedures for compounding and assembling sterile and non-sterile products.
  3. Prepare medications by measuring, mixing, counting, labeling, and recording dosages according to prescriptions, following policies and regulations.
  4. Assist with workflow coordination and ensure a safe, clean work environment.
  5. Rotate through pharmacy workstations, including Driving, Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging, to accurately fill prescriptions and provide caring service.
  6. Ensure medication needs and compliance standards are met, demonstrating ethical conduct and confidentiality.
  7. Maintain compliance with all laws and regulations, and uphold professional and ethical standards.
  8. Deliver medications, equipment, and supplies to long-term care facilities or patients’ homes, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
  9. Load products into delivery vehicles safely, log deliveries, and confirm shipments are correct.
  10. Maintain and service delivery vehicles, using GPS and mobile applications for navigation, and deploy alternative delivery methods in emergencies.
  11. Perform inventory management, including physical counts, sorting, scanning, and preparing delivery manifests and documentation.
  12. Assist pharmacy staff during downtime and support other operational tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification/licensing as required by state law (e.g., Pharmacy Technician registration)
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive long distances
  • Ability to concentrate, communicate effectively, and demonstrate customer service orientation
  • Geographical knowledge of the service area
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends
  • COVID-19 vaccination required prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in long-term care, pharmacy, retail, or customer service
  • Previous pharmacy technician experience and PTCB certification
  • Driving experience
Education

Anticipated weekly hours: 40

Time type: Full-time

Pay range: $16.00 - $26.21 per hour, depending on experience and location
