Job summary

Risk Placement Services (RPS), a Gallagher division, seeks a motivated Underwriter to join our Transportation team. You will underwrite new and renewal transportation and commercial auto business and collaborate with retail agents to deliver tailored solutions for complex risks.

You’ll evaluate risk, pricing, and coverage terms, develop strong broker relationships, negotiate terms, and monitor market trends to sustain profitable growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience required.
• Detail oriented; strong analytical skills and good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal transportation and commercial auto business within established authority.
• Evaluate risk characteristics, pricing, coverage structures, and policy terms to ensure profitable growth.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail agents and agency partners.
• Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing to secure new business opportunities.
• Analyze loss history, financial information, and underwriting data to make sound risk decisions.
• Collaborate with carrier partners to identify coverage solutions for transportation-related exposures.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and transportation industry developments.
