Our Construction Management Team seeks a Transportation Technician II to perform standard inspection procedures on ongoing transportation projects in North Carolina, ensuring quality, safety, and conformance to plans and specifications. This position is not eligible for employer sponsorship, except for TN visa classification.

This role is available in multiple North Carolina locations; details will be discussed during the interview.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Inspect contractor operations on transportation projects, including roadway and bridge construction, to verify adherence to plans and specifications.
2. Conduct routine material testing.
3. Measure and record quantities of pay items.
4. Maintain records such as material certifications, testing reports, and daily diaries.
5. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Required Experience

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or related field, with at least two years of technician experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience analyzing highway construction plans.
• NCDOT certifications such as Concrete Field Technician, QMS Roadway Technician, and Conventional Density Testing are preferred.
• Over 4 years of construction inspection experience on transportation projects is preferred.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in the field, requiring safe operation in outdoor environments, exposure to hazards, heights, traffic, and rough terrain. Moderate physical activity is required, including walking, climbing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Nights and weekends may be required.
