Job summary

Stormont Vail Health is seeking a Transportation Technician for second shift (evenings). This part-time role involves delivering medications, specimens, and mail between sites and departments.

You will operate in a fast-paced clinical logistics environment, maintain delivery logs, assist with patient transportation as needed, and ensure accuracy and safety in all tasks. A valid driver's license with clean MVR is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR; 3-year baseline and annual MVR review required.

Responsibilities

• Transports medications, specimens, blood products, films and any other item to authorized personnel.
• Travels to and from delivery sites on foot or by vehicle; delivers supplies, medications, blood, specimens, documents, films and equipment to customers.
• Sorts and delivers USPS mail and inter-office mail daily; lifts and carries large containers of mail; operates letter opener and scales.
• Answers phones and logs details of each request; communicates tasks to staff with full details for accurate completion.
• Maintains logs on items picked up and delivered.
• Transports patients according to proper procedure.
• Loads equipment, boxes of supplies and other goods into/out of vans.
• Prepares outgoing mail for USPS mail processing vendor and maintains logs on charges.
• Locates addresses in records and forwards discharged patient mail.

A Brief Overview

The Transportation Technician must demonstrate the ability and be willing to perform a minimum of 2 of the functions in the Transportation Department. These include Courier, Mail Processing and Delivery and Dispatching. Transportation Technicians are scheduled as required to meet the needs of Stormont‑Vail and are cross‑trained. Technicians must interact with internal customers on a frequent basis, using tact and diplomacy while communicating clearly and accurately.

What you will do
