Job summary

Grocery Outlet Inc. is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to lead our outbound transportation and field delivery operations.

You will direct drivers, monitor routes, conduct field observations, and partner with routing, dispatch, warehouse operations, stores, carriers, and maintenance to ensure reliable, cost-effective deliveries. In this role, you will coach drivers on safety, loading procedures, and performance expectations, while ensuring DOT/FMCSA compliance, driver safety, and timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 3+ years' experience in transportation operations, driver management, routing and dispatch.
• Ability to lead, coach, and hold frontline drivers accountable for safety, service, productivity, and attendance.
• Experience with field observations, ride-alongs, incident follow-up, and documented coaching.
• Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA requirements, hours-of-service, ELD, and vehicle inspection practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day direction and supervision to drivers, promoting safety and customer service.
• Coordinate routing, dispatching, scheduling, and load tracking with carriers and Grocery Outlet's fleet.
• Monitor route activity, delays, staffing, equipment, and delivery exceptions.
• Conduct field observations and ride-alongs to ensure safe practices and service standards.
• Coach drivers on safe driving, vehicle inspections, loading/unloading, and performance expectations.
