Job summary

Grocery Outlet Inc. is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to lead daily outbound transportation and field delivery operations. You will direct drivers, monitor routes, and work with routing, dispatch, and warehouse teams to ensure reliable, cost-effective deliveries.

You will coach drivers on safety and performance, review route activity, and coordinate with carriers and IOs to meet service levels and KPIs. This role reports to the Transportation Manager.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in transportation operations and driver management.
• Experience with routing, dispatch, and scheduling.
• Familiarity with DOT/FMCSA hours-of-service and inspection practices.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coach drivers to ensure safety and service.
• Coordinate routing, dispatch, scheduling, and load tracking with carriers.
• Monitor driver activity and route performance; address delays.
• Conduct field observations and ride-alongs to assess practices.
• Coach on safe driving, inspections, and loading/unloading.
• Communicate ETAs and update on issues and changes.
• Support driver onboarding and safety meetings.
• Ensure DOT/FMCSA compliance and vehicle inspections.
• Investigate incidents or service complaints and follow up.
• Liaise among IOs, stores, drivers, carriers, and operations.
• Manage cross-dock shuttles and Final Mile deliveries.
• Assist stores with orders and delivery schedules.
• Review operational data to meet KPIs.
• Identify opportunities to reduce overtime and costs.
• Maintain DOT driver records and fleet maintenance.
