Job summary

InnovAge is seeking a Supervisor, Transportation to lead a team of drivers, ensure safety, and coordinate daily logistics across transportation operations. The role focuses on supervision, adherence to DOT rules, and efficient route management to support frail and elderly participants.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, a valid Class C license, and at least two years of supervisory experience in transportation.

Qualifications

• Requires state issued Class C driver’s license, good driving record and to be at least 21 years of age.
• Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience in transportation.
• DOT and Defensive Driving experience.
• Knowledge of principles for moving people and goods and related costs.
• Customer and Personal Service knowledge.
• Administration and Management knowledge.
• Two-year degree preferred; experience with frail elderly is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises direct reports and provides leadership by example.
• Interviews, hires and trains employees; plans, assigns and directs work.
• Sets department tone to maintain morale and positive culture.
• Distributes transportation schedules and informs about changes.
• Supervises field drivers and updates on events.
• Enforces safety rules and plans assignments to meet goals.
• Reviews orders and schedules for work sequences and destinations.
• Inspects vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
• Assists Dispatchers and Transportation Manager with overtime and resources.
• Plans daily duties for drivers and provides relief coverage.
• Trains drivers on new equipment and routes.
• Conducts ride-alongs and covers after-hours as needed.
• Provides relief coverage for Transportation Managers as needed.
• Travel between local InnovAge worksites as required.
