Job summary

InnovAge is seeking a Driver – Participant Care to provide safe transportation for frail and elderly participants to Day Centers, appointments, and field trips. You will also deliver in-home meals, pick up supplies and medications, and assist participants into and out of vehicles.

The role requires a valid California Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement (or higher), prior DOT/defensive driving experience, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• DOT and Defensive Driving experience required.
• One year of experience working with frail or elderly.
• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Drives InnovAge vehicles safely and follows policies and routes.
• Loads/unloads participants and assists them in and out of homes.
• Transport participants to pre-arranged appointments.
• Delivers in-home meals, supplies and medications to participants.
• Assists participants with simple tasks and mobility as needed.
• Keeps Dispatch updated on route events.
• Maintains vehicle safety and coordinates van maintenance.
• Assist other drivers with loading/unloading at centers.
• Participates in Plans of Care for the PACE program participants.
