  • valid Florida drivers license in good standing.
  • Prefer a Class “B” and “C” with passenger endorsement and DOT Medical Card.

Job Summary: The primary duty is to manage the Transportation Department and direct the transportation staff to ensure that scheduled appointments are dispatched and drivers transport the residents in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner. Provide liaison between the Transportation Department and all of the other JKV departments as necessary.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the Transportation Department, being accountable for performance of staff and maintenance of equipment.
  • Select, hire, and train staff to fill transportation positions as needed.
  • Facilitate and recommend appropriate training as needed.
  • Counsel transportation employees to ensure corrective action when needed.
  • Implement and enforce relevant operational procedures as set by JKV management.
  • Develop, modify, and enforce transportation procedures and operational manuals as needed.
  • Function as liaison between transportation department and all other JKV departments as necessary.
  • Keep Security Manager and Director of Operations informed on any abnormalities or concerns.
  • Monitor and Manage daily department operations 24/7 as needed.
  • Perform duties of the dispatcher or driver when required.

Employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Physical requirements may include frequent use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds, stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; and smell. Vision abilities may require close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

For the safety and security of our residents and patients, employees must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English, which is the most universally used language of our resident and employee population.

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent,
  • valid Florida drivers license in good standing.
  • Prefer a Class “B” and “C” with passenger endorsement and DOT Medical Card.
  • Adherence to all OSHA/NFPA and building codes, adherence to all policies/ procedures and safe work practices.
