COMPENSATION INFORMATION: The pay range provided is not indicative of Sysco's actual pay range but is merely algorithmic and provided for generalized comparison. Monday - Saturday off on Wednesday. Hours are flexible with rotating shifts. Opening shift from 2am until complete. Closing shift from 11am until complete. Work on standby once every 4th Sunday. Remote answering for emergencies.

JOB SUMMARY

This position supports the transportation manager/director in supervising delivery and backhaul activities, including training staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervise daily work and safety of transportation associates, ensuring adherence to SOPs, food safety standards, and planned routes.
2. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA), and maintain accurate electronic logs.
3. Oversee labor hours and supplies within budget.
4. Prepare work schedules, including extra shifts as needed.
5. Assist in training new and existing associates.
6. Manage company assets and coordinate repairs.
7. Review delivery productivity, suggest improvements, and implement changes.
8. Enforce company policies and procedures related to safety and food safety.
9. Collaborate with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve issues.
10. Visit customer locations and address delivery challenges.
11. Maintain positive relations and open communication with staff.
12. Work with safety management on training, safety inspections, and investigations.
13. Handle staff management functions such as hiring, performance reviews, and discipline.
14. Follow assigned schedule with regular attendance and work outside normal hours as needed.
15. Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; college degree in management or supply chain preferred.

Experience: 2-4 years in transportation or related training.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

Class A CDL and DOT training preferred but not required.
