The position is responsible for supervising employees in various departments throughout the kitchen, including but not limited to equipment, food, and transportation. This position will be responsible for all safety compliance for all external areas serviced by Gate Gourmet to ensure the personal and physical safety of employees and customers.

Annual Hiring Range/Hourly Rate:

  • $56,000 - $60,000/Per Year

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Supervises and supports lower management on daily operations.
  • Responsible for transportation routing, flight delivery assignments, and meeting departure times.
  • Works with maintenance staff for machinery maintenance and reports issues.
  • Conducts inventory to ensure proper usage and minimize waste.
  • Prepares and plans against end-of-month projections with the Ops and General Managers.
  • Prepares management reports as required.
  • Coordinates between customers and employees.
  • May get involved in labor issues to ensure flights are serviced on time.
  • Responsible for performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and corrective actions in collaboration with HR.
  • Manages workflow and responsibilities among employees.
  • Plans daily manpower and assigns responsibilities.
  • Determines staffing needs and calls in employees as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with Wage & Hour policies and company processes.
  • Trains employees on work procedures to maximize productivity and minimize costs.
  • Monitors daily manpower and schedules employees.
  • Responsible for employee retention and reducing turnover.
  • Handles coaching, counseling, and corrective actions per union agreements.
  • Ensures correct pay rates and training completion.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates degree preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years supervisory experience in high-volume, manufacturing, food production, restaurant, or catering environments preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage 30+ employees.
  • Labor relations experience is a plus.
  • Ability to train others and give feedback.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Innovative with the ability to implement improvements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; ServSafe Certification required or in progress; ServSafe Certified preferred.

Language / Communication Skills:

  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish/Chinese Mandarin/Vietnamese/Hindi/Polish is a plus.
