YOUR OPPORTUNITY


We have an exciting Transportation Supervisor opportunity in Iowa Falls, IA. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for transportation scheduling of animal movements, equipment maintenance, DOT compliance, leading truck wash operations, and necessary communication with drivers, production, and truck wash team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Collaborate with scheduling and production teams to create schedules based on production needs, truck wash constraints, biosecurity adherence and driver/equipment constraints

  • Determine the appropriate equipment to be used and allocate equipment based on demand

  • Interact with truck wash team and lead the truck wash operations

  • Schedule repair and maintenance of equipment and complete minor repairs as needed

  • Communicate and work through schedule changes with drivers and truck wash team members

  • Adhere to and enforce company biosecurity, truck wash and safety guidelines

  • Monitor and direct live haul movements in times of inclement/extreme weather to ensure the safety of drivers and animals

  • Conduct on farm training and assessments with drivers regarding animal handling

  • Communicate effectively with production, drivers and truck wash team members

  • Complete necessary clerical tasks assigned by management

QUALIFICATIONS


Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; or 4-6 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A valid driver's license and acceptable MVR is required. Class A CDL is preferred.

  • Mixture of office and field work.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is commonly exposed to airborne particles and gases at low concentrations.

  • The noise level is usually loud when working in the field.
