Transportation Supervisor (Finance)

Position Purpose:

Responsible for assisting management in the supervision of drivers and staff of the Transportation Department. Implements schedules, departure times, and daily functions of the department. Ensures daily changes are coordinated efficiently and effectively. Communicates with customers regarding delays or issues and shares relevant information with internal departments.

Essential Functions & Basic Duties:
  • Coordinates daily scheduling of drivers and staff to ensure workforce effectiveness.
  • Monitors driver departure times and reports accordingly.
  • Shares on-call duty with Transportation Department team members.
  • Coordinates customer deliveries and notifies customers of delays or accidents.
  • Assists in determining rental requirements and equipment needs.
  • Handles customer, warehouse, and driver inquiries via phone.
  • Provides backup support for the Transportation Manager and logs data entry.
  • Summarizes and publishes results of quality checks and on-time reporting.
  • Works with leasing companies to ensure proper truck maintenance schedules.
  • Acts as a key communicator between departments regarding schedule changes and new accounts.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Required Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications: Excel, Word, and Access.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to coordinate complex schedules.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
