Mannik Smith Group in Frankfort, KY is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Transportation team. You will design transportation-related structures such as bridges, culverts, and walls, and assist senior staff with drafting, review and project collaboration.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in structural design, a Civil Engineering degree, and has or plans to obtain licensure as a Professional Engineer. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering is required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred or to be obtained.
• 5+ years in structural design of transportation structures.
• Experience with bridges, culverts and walls.
• Ability to manage projects and clients including junior staff guidance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with CAD and structural design software.

Responsibilities

• Design transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, and walls.
• Assist senior staff in structural design, drafting and review.
• Collaborate with structures group, other disciplines and clients.
• Ensure designs comply with local, state and federal codes.
• Develop engineers cost estimates.
• Guide junior staff with direction and feedback.
