Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a senior transportation/field leader to guide a team delivering optimized movement of products across the US. You will drive cost-to-serve analytics, network design, and carrier strategies while collaborating with Sales, Finance, and Operations to enable enterprise-wide improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred
• 8+ years of experience in transportation analytics, network design, or data modeling preferred
• Strong foundational knowledge of domestic transportation modes, regulations, and warehousing operations.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, including proficiency in statistical analysis, regression modeling, and optimization techniques.
• Excellent business writing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Travel 10%

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of transportation executives overseeing day-to-day operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve logistics capabilities and service for 3PL customers.
• Optimize routing, location, and carrier strategies across the broader transportation team.
• Design, implement, and maintain customer solutions delivering mutual value.
• Conduct cost-to-serve and fleet equipment analysis to support decisions.
• Support Account Management on regular business calls reviewing strategies.
• Lead transportation cost modeling and support customer contract negotiations.
• Develop and operationalize new logistics capabilities via standardized processes.
• Build relationships across the enterprise to inform decisions and gather feedback.
• Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Supply Chain Planning, Sales, Systems, 3PL team and carriers.
• Translate transportation analytics into clear insights for stakeholders and leadership.
• Ensure proposed solutions align with transportation and warehousing realities.
