DESCRIPTION
The Transportation Specialist ensures the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the school division’s transportation services. This role involves coordinating bus routes, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, addressing transportation concerns, and supporting the daily operations of the transportation department. The Transportation Specialist serves as a liaison between schools, parents, and the transportation team, ensuring that transportation services meet the needs of students and the school community.

The Transportation Specialist reports directly to the Transportation Supervisor or designated administrator.
WORK CONDITIONS
The Transportation Specialist works in both office and field environments, with responsibilities that may require occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions. The role involves frequent use of computers, phones, and transportation management software. Some physical activity, such as inspecting buses or assisting during emergencies, may be required. The position typically follows a standard workweek but may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends to address operational needs or emergencies.
